Chief John Gullo
John is the Emergency Manager/Chief Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of West Seneca, which is a first ring suburb of Buffalo, New York. His tenure with the Town includes Emergency Manager since 2005 and Chief Code Enforcement Officer since 1987. He has responded to numerous local disasters as well as coordinated efforts to deploy resources to other damage stricken areas. In addition to his paid duties, John has also been a dedicated volunteer firefighter with the Vigilant Fire Company since 1984 and held the rank of Fire Chief for numerous years.
In 2006, John was the catalyst in developing West Seneca's C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team). The team is comprised of 85 community members, with whom he has shared his skills and expertise with through various training activities. John has trained roughly over 1500 individuals through the years.
National Certifications in which John holds include; Certified Emergency Manager Certification, Certified Chief Officer, Fire Marshal, Fire and Explosion Investigator and is certified in Homeland Security level IV. John received his Bachelors in Fire Science degree from Buffalo State College and continues to train constantly, to keep the certifications up to date.
